OS Japan

looks badass...wonder if it still has that possible premature wear problem like the vzb i always hear about?

v-spec..isnt that a moniker that nissan uses for its top of the line skylines? man looks dont mean crap in r/c but looks sure do make that vzb v-spec look like its fast.

Looks nice. But as someone else mentioned I wonder if OS fixed the premature wear issue. The currently VZ-B is going for $280-ish. So I would figure this one to be around that same price.

I think just because OS had a issue with one engine which just so happens to be being replaced by this engine doesn't mean they all will carry the same problem. I would be more inclined to go by OS's long track record or great long lasting engines rather than go by 1 bad egg. To each his own and time will answer your question Mcvickj.

Agreed. We probably wouldn't even be talking about it if OS handled the issue differently. I understand you won't know something won't work until you try it but to deny the problem didn't even exist is a bit crazy. I didn't personally own the VZ-B. The two OS engines I did own were nothing but work horses.

True, denying a problem exsisted did hurt their creditbility. It's just too bad because like 3 of their pros switched to Piccio because of that engine.

I'm on 1 and a quarter to 1 and a half gallons thru my vzb with no problems. Anyone know when the v-spec is supossed to be released in the US?

[Edit] Nevermind, Tower has it for early July, and $319.99

I had 2 os engines last and know of 3 that died before hitting 2 gallons... None of which where the vzb.

The two that lasted were 15 cv-r(x), the 3 that blew up (2 shattered con-rods, 1 busted crank shaft) were 21 RG-X(P)'s.

Needless to say, I switched brands.

I'm just glad I didn't spend $300 on any of the ones that died. The 15's that lasted weren't all the powerful, but were pretty reliable.

Two friends also have a VZB, and I always hear about this premature where, so I'v followed how much fuel, and performance closely. 1 has only approx 1 gal. of O'Donnel 30%. The other 2-2.5 gal of the same. Both broke in on O'donnel 20% along with mine, and that is what I still run(1.25-1.5 gal so far) All three are great motors so far. The ones on 30% have almost too much power for the tight track we run, and mine seems to have more ppower each time I drive it still, like it's still breaking in.

Would like to get a 2nd buggy, and am interested in the v-spec, so if anyone tries it out I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like to hear about it.

ok one word

V-SPEC.....

WOW!! what a motor. after break in it is still tight at the top

this is after
5 Qt of fuel

and i ran some today at the track

1qt and a Q before i had to run home.

Wow
first off before i every start the motor.

i heated it up to 240 then started it. every time I RAN THE MOTOR.

man the power of this thing is unreal.

ran it with Foil around the head.
with the foil i was over 210-230
untill the last tank of fuel and one Q
i
leaned her out with out the foil on the head and she was running
198deg. wow
top end was crazy. and it was 54 today i can not wait to see this
thing run at 230-250 after it breaks in.

i see i may have to get a extra rod for this motor. man it is super
tight like a Novarossi motor.

a rod is what 32 bones well worth the money. to put back into the
motor after some more break on this motor.

i going to sale my v01b's off and get other v-spec maybe 2 or 3 motor
for next year.

power is smoother than my vzb and way smoother than my v01b's

is it b/c of the turbo plug?
and this is just a 3 port motor. it feels like my 3 port mod i got
from Italian motor but way smoother. i think i'm in love again.

i realy see more v-spec to come.

YO MAMA!!! I KNOW WHAT I WANT FOR X-MAS.

oh yeah. V-specs tear it up. hats off to you having patience to heat gun it every start-up, i only heat gunned mine during break-in start ups.

BTW, what % are you running, do you have stock shim setup and what pipe you haveon there?
