I'm considering some aftermarket U-joints for my T-Maxx. But, it seems like they are designed to fail--like a shear pin--to prevent damage to the tranny. Do you set yourself up for bigger problems by getting beefy U-joints?
 
When you beef up one part extra stress is transferred to other parts. If you're having probs with joints, upgrade them. Then you'll find out the next weakest area.
 
Yeah, I hear ya on that. I'm just wondering if there's an aftermarket part that would be a better product that the OEM shafts. I'd like to stick with plastic to avoid any further breaks upstream.
 
Well, alloy CVD's wear quickly unless you buy nice ones, and nice ones cost more. If your not running a big block, then I'd stick with sliders. Cheap to buy on ebay and have a few on hand.
