Okay well about 15 minutes ago i go to try and start the engine in my savage and it pops and i see what looks like a crap load of nitro blow out of my exhast, and think nothing of it, well after another minute or so of trying to start it, it makes a sound like a burp and i look down and the floor and my radio are in fire!!!! What the Hell!!! Help please!!!

A backfire? Very unlikely, but I imagine it could happen if your exhaust is saturated... EXTREMELY SATURATED. Even then, chanced are next to nill of that happening. Try making sure your exhaust is cleared out and then see if your motor is roasted (again, unlikely).

Shims would have nothing to do with it would it? I toke the head off and cleaned the top ot the piston and i still was bright cromeish. the head however was on 2 shims, whats the pupose of the shims? and should i run with one or two?

oops posted as Nathan, really zachary. Sorry

Oh man, I hope you didn't leave it burning waiting for us to give you an answer. First, put out the fire. Buy a new radio too. Check that your car was set up correctly, sometimes that's the problem.

I'm not kidding at all. The engine honestly blew out a puff of fire. caught the floor and my radio on fire with a real light blue flame for just the split second it toke me to put it out. It DID happen!

Don't worry i put the fire out and it didn't burn any of my stuff. Any what exactly do you mean for the car to be set up correctly?

I'm guessing you have a rotostart or other means of starting other than a pullstart? Sounds like the engine is way rich and flooded,If you used a pullstart you would have noticed the strain of the extra fuel and removed the plug, turned it upside down, tugged the cord a few times to clear the engine and never had this problem.

blue flame out of the exhaust? yeah, same thing happend to me, i ended up buying a new engine

sounds like it might be time for a fresh one. when did you get that three weeks ago? How many tanks did you get through it?

its had 7 tanks total, but today i did find some things out. First off, to stop using a drill, too much tork and will not stop when hydrolocked and broke me rotostarter backplate gear, and that i was running my needles bad and the reason it won't start is because half of my gears are stripped.

Most drills nowadays have clutches on them that control the torque... I know my dad's does and it's a Craftsman 19 volt cordless.

I didn't even ever think of the torque setting, i had it on the drill setting, not on any of the clutch sets. Never even crossed my mind, but i don't have to worry about it thanks to chardizzal tradeing my a rotostarter now have. just time to go and get a new backplate for it and hope like hell that the drill just didn't spin fast enough to start the engine and that i didn't screw anything up at all.

HEAD SHIMS, HOW MANY SHOULD I RUN WITH??? ONE OR TWO?

Also does any of you awesome people happen to have the smaller gear in the backplate that the wand goes into that meets up with the gear on the one way bearing?

did you read this?

get a pull start, they are the way to go in my opion. You will not have to worry about drill settings, and it lets you no if you have a good tune and other thinngs are a added bonus.
