you know when you rotostart the engine when starting up it makes a clunkinty sound well now it's just a smooooth sound, no more clunkity like the gears inside are gone
my gears done the same thing. I have a savage 25 and i thought since it had a red x on the bottom it was ok(that meant that the rotostart backplate was retourqed at the factory)...It was'nt. mine messed up the small gear in the inside of the roto start case. here is the good news you can get just the gears from www.towerhobbies.com for about 15.00.......but when you put the plate back on the engine be sure its tight and be sure to use lock tite .....after i done this never hade any more problems. hope this helps:dance:dance:
you know when you put your finger over the exhaust you feel some preassure outputting contantly well now it does it only every 3sec and it's very weak..
If the rotostart is turning fine when you push the button, and you say it's the engine then the problem is probably your one-way bearing. You'll have to pull off the rotostart back plate to get to it. This little baby ain't cheap, $18 a pop. I just got one from Savage Central store. Here's the link for a 21BB bearing:
There is no way to inspect the one way without taking the engine out of the Savage and taking off the backplate. It could be that the one way is just slipping. If that is the case just clean it with some denatured alcohol.
Because its still pretty new you might be able to get one freebe outta HPI. Your not the first person to have this problem with the rotostart and the one way.
