The best tires for onroad are gonna suck offroad and visa versa. Ideally you will want a different set of tires for each. For onroad I recommend either GRPs or Ipanemas. Both can be found on Bruckner Hobbies website. For offroad thats hard to say because it depends on what type of terrain you're running on and how loose it is. You can try using a set of "all-terrain tires but those are mediocre on both surfaces at best. I generally dont like "all-terrain" tires.

The colors are the softness or hardness of the tires but different companies have different colors they use. For one road tires instead of colors you'll usually see "shore" ratings which is basically the same thing. The warmer it is out side you higher shore rating you want on your tires. If you try running a set of 40 shore tires in 95F degree weather they wont last you very long. On the flip side if you run 65 shore tires in 55F weather you wont get crap for traction.
