Humm... Figure I'll post an update finally, been doing so pretty well at the
www.hpiforums.com.
I finally bought the alloy gearboxes. Now I have everything I need, except for some more clutchbells, rear aluminum braces, and dogbones. I am most likely going to get the dogbones machined by a shop. I cannot find any ones that re the right length. Probably drop another 200$ on just that for as many dogbones as I can. Darn money pit... Umm, bought brakes and stuff as you can see, highlighted stuff is what I bought. Again, the prices are just values, not what I paid for it. Total for the conversion to date is 3750$.

Another update. The truck is ALMOST ready to run. I basically assembled everything that needs assembling, now I am just waiting for my dad to come from work with the dremel so I can dremel at the chassis, so that the alloy gearboxes will fit. The hole in the chassis does not match the part that sticks out on the bottom of the gearboxes. Must make hole bigger.
Also, the brakes I bought are a tad too large in diameter. When I put them on, the screws that hold the brake pads on rub against the rotors. So, my dad took them to work as well to take off about 2mm around. No biggie. I can't find 2 of my brake pads though So I only have 2 for now to work with. Oh, the rotors/ discs are fiber, not metal. I will be running most likely one in the front, and one in the rear.
Assembled the diffs as well. Packed them with 50,000W Silicone oil, that was fun to watch the oil contour to all the little grooves in the diff cases. That went without a hinch. Also, bought these silver HPI outdrives, which are supposedly the Rush outdrives, or at least stronger than stock. Using those right now. Also the RTR 3 spider gears. 13T and 38T finals too. Now all I need really is those dogbones. Man, I am gonna kill myself when I see how much they are gonna run me. Ah well, I'm the one that dropped $4,800CAD into the NMT in the first place
The steering is all assembled, got the Kimbrough servo saver, that works like a charm. Everything is super smooth except for the ball ends. But hey, I don't want them smooth, they will break themselves in, no need for a drill or anything to make them fit better in the cups.
I'm running the shocks in the outer most hole in the Kolor-raft shock towers, and the inner most hole on the A-Arms, front and rear, well, rear and rear lol. Also, the shock towers required a little bit of persuasion to fit over the alloy gearboxes,as aluminum doesn't tend to bend as much as plastic can. After about 30 mins of filing at the 3.2mm Titanium, they fit. The 2nd tower only took about 10 minutes of filing. Yay. In both towers, 3 screws went in fine, and one had to be "persuaded" to go in. As a matter of fact, I couldn't even fit one through, so, I put in the opposite way, and secured it with a 3mm lock nut. I like symmetry, so I did the same to the other screw on the opposite side. You will see in the pictures which will come soon enough
What else? Umm, yeah, all that is keeping the truck from running right now is really the dogbones. Everything else is figured out. I just have to buy the bigger CBs, and the alloy rear braces. That is it. We are almost there The truck really looks amazing right now.
Oh, I guess I should say I have body posts as well. Borrowed them from work. Found these cool looking things that can be used as long body posts, so took like 10 of them. Paradox took like 8. lol. Have to find a place to mount those. And, just one more hole in the chassis to drill for the antenna. Heh, the truck really looks amazing. I cannot tell you how amazing it looks. It's unbelieveable. Oh. Also, I was just thinking, and I may after all do the 4 wheel steering. I can see how I can fit bell cranks in the rear, but that is for a later date.
And the buggy wing will be put on a little later, but it will be there, don't worry.
