Does anybody make aluminum turnbuckle ends for the Savage trucks? The stock plastic ones keep stretching and pop off the ball ends. This is annoying because after a big jump I'm always having to limp in and pop the steering turnbuckle back on!

Had had one come off for the first time on Sunday I'm gonna order the integy titanium tie rods they have aluminum ends.

If you keep 'popping' the same one on, that's the reason it keeps coming off. They are threaded, and the threads are now stripped.

No body else makes any that I know of. lundsford has upgraded ends but there's are still plastic .Is this a problem that happens alot or should I not worry about upgrading them. It was there first one I've had come apart but I would like for it not happen alot.

I have this problem a lot too. I tried just new pieces but it doesn't help for big air jumps. I don't think those RPM's will work on the Savage steering due to clearance issues. Might be ok for chassis ends on the rear.

Yeah I saw the Integy ones too. But I'm not taking my chances with their crap! And i'm taking about the plastic rod ends popping off the ball socket. Not the threads stripping out. I wonder if someone makes them for a different truck. As long they screw onto the rod properly and you still have toe adjustment that's all that really matters right?

Oh, okay. Same as heathW. Just pick up some spares after it pops out a couple of times. It's not that common of a problem, so it could be that it's just got too much clearance or play. Not every part is perfect every time.

Yeah i think the plastic rod ends are too soft. They stretch too much and lose there shape. This causes them to slip off the pivot ball.

Yep that's just what i did went to True Value and got some washers. Total cost 38 cents. It's way too hot outside right now too see if they will work. I'm gonna wait till later this evening about 8:00 or so before I do a bash session. I will let everyone know how it goes.

Aren't those integy? Regardless, quite a few guys have bought those adapters as integy and seem to really like them.

Pretty sure I'm running lunsford titanium with LST balls/ends on mine. Had to trim the ends a bit, but haven't had an issue in a really long time.

I cut the neck off the ball end almost in half as it was too long to fit otherwise. As it is, the turnbuckles screw in to almost no threads viewable.

I run two with this setup on teh front and made my own lockers for the rear. Pretty hack, but got the job done so I didn't need turnbuckles back there. Gave the other two turnbuckles to a buddy of mine so he could do the same to his savage.

This is what I made for the rears:

If you don't get the bend exactly right, you can shim it on the upper arm a bit with shims to get the toe-in the way you want.
