Well, it's that time of year again. I was thinking of preparing my own this year since I know I have almost no real deductions or itemizations. I have heard good things from friends about TurboTax. I'm just wondering if anyone here has used it and had any good or bad things to say about it.

My wife is a CPA and has used it for the last couple of years since she left her accounting firm and went private.

While she prefers the professional tax software like Lacerte, she says that Turbo Tax offers everything one needs to prepare their taxes.

I've been using it since we moved up here and I lost my tax guy and haven't been able to find one since. It's decent and since you say you don't have much to do as far as itemized deductions and such you might look at your bank's website, mine offers a free online version to account holders.

If your taxes are relatively simple..I would do them the old fashion way. Although the software is relatively inexpensive and is deductible the following year. You will probably save a little cash by filing the paper forms.

If you are getting a sizable return and want it quick, then Turbo Tax is a great way to expedite things.
