hi I'm new to the hobby and was wondering if there is any kind of a turbo equivalent for nitros?

Welcome to the forum. The search button is your friend it is locate at the top right of the page directly below the RC. Anyway from what I've heard they exist but are absolutely pointless. There are superchargers and they have show some minimal gains in power. But ultimately people feel for the price its better to just get a better motor since they offer such a marginal gain (superchargers anyway I don't even know if turbos work).

See this for more info

I wouldn't think the motor would have enough exhaust to spin a turbine and then operate the compressor turbine to create enough pressure to gain much at all.

As they said superchargers, turbo, and all those nitrous kits are not worth the price. They only increase the speed slightly and cause the engines to wear out quicker from the stress and increased lean conditions. Just buy a bigger engine and you will be happy with the results.

Get a more potent engine, superchargers and injection systems with additives add too liitle and will accelerate wear too much.

Not worth IMO,get a better engine. You will see a much greater gain.
