actually, wasteland, you are almost 100% correct. While a turbo engine isnt a hopped up regular engine, per say - the rest of what u say is pretty much spot on. The turbo plug has already been explained, and you are right about the turbo crank. Previously, most turbo motors - ecspecially small blocks - were top end engines with included more ports too, usually 5 instead of the normal three. this was done, as turbo plugs were illegal in racing, so these were outlaw engines to be used in the 235mm class. now - roar has made turbo plugs and cranks legal for all engines, but still limits ports to 3 + 1 exhaust port, so some engines are starting to show up as turbo models with only 3 ports. The new novamega SX12 SS Turbo is one example.
