what are they? my lhs has turbo glow plugs and I heard about turbo engines is it just a diffrent type of egnine or an upgrade?

yes, the name is misleading in that they are in no way associated with the Turbocharging you think of. A turbo plug is simply a tapered plug which doesn't need a washer. Due to its shape it allows for a more appropriate combustion chamber. A turbo engine is one with the proper head to accomodate these plugs. Sometimes the word turbo timing is used also, and this represents the way the engine crankshaft is made in order to best utilize the effects of the turbo plug.

NA, I see that turbo type engines usually have a little more power over their brothers and sisters. Are these engines more difficult to tune? Are there any advantages over a non-turbo?

they will usually have slightly more power, but it will not be a huge difference. There are no added tuning issues with these engines, but unless u are racing in the 235mm .15 open class - they are NOT race legal. Also, turbo plugs are quite expensive. I personally dont recommend these engines.
