I took my buggy out today, and the weather was quite warm. I had the engine set up for running in freezing conditions, so of course, it was running very rich and boggy. I leaned out the HSN about half a turn, and it ran perfectly.

I'm just wondering, as the weather changes, is it just the HSN that I want to be adjusting, or should I be matching what I'm doing with the HSN on the LSN as well?
 
Just the HSN trust me,
I ran my swift on a cold day, it was stuttery and abit slow so i richened the needle about 7 minutes anti clockwise and the difference is amazing!
 
You will still need to adjust the LSN ONLY if necessary. Judge it by theway it takes off. If it "gurgles" then clears it's throatand runs (or gurgles and stalls) it's running rich. You will need to lean it very slightly. A little bit goes a long way. Use the pinch method as well. Pinch the fuel line about an inch from the inlet and count how long it takes to die. If it stalls right away, it's too lean. If it takes a while to stall, it's too rich. You are aiming for 3-5 secs till the engine will stall.
 
Yeah, it's amazing how a change in outside temperature can effect these engines so dramatically. Mine was running so crap today. Would only reach about 30mph max speed and sounded like it had a flemmy cough! Leaned the top end out and it hummed a nice clean note once again :-D

The pinch method you describe there is quite a good one. It works well, but I prefer to test it on take off and see how it behaves. After leaning out the HSN first, I noticed it corrected the spluttery take off. So when you lean out the HSN, does it automatically lean out the LSN as well? So it this why you should always tweak the HSN first, then if it still hesitates at take-off, the LSN needs tweaking..?
 
I just test using my eyes and ears, if it has a long smooth glitchless scream down the road, its set just right!
If it stutters or tries to die, its NOT right.
The speed is effected alot also.
 
When it makes that dowwww noise, does that mean it's too lean?
 
dowww is abit vague lol there are alot of ways to say that, also depending on accents, if you were chinese and said that, it would sound more like a bee flying round your ear.
My car kind of purrs when you go full speed then just cut the throttle and roll.
I havnt used it in a while because the back brakes arnt working, i will be fixing it today if the weather clears up (Very foggy in the UK right now)
I wish i lived in a small neighboorhood in California, maybe when I'm older lol.
 
lol, yeah I suppose that was a bit vague! I can't describe it any other way in text. It's similar to the boggy noise it makes if it's running real rich and you slam the throttle open, but without the splutter.

We've have glorious sunshine here in the UK right now, so I'm going to take her for a blast!
