First of all after you get the needles set back to factory settings go a head and put a new mc-8 or mc-9 glow plug in it so you can start from scratch.
The high speed needle is to be set at 4-1/2 turns out from fully closed.
The low speed needle is to be set at 3 turns from fully closed.

Somthing to keep in mind is that when you take the low speed needle to fully closed make sure you have someone or yourself holding the carb wide open,and then go 3 turns out.
