Tuned pipe question. (Yes a pipe Q again, I know. Don't hit me I searched

Other than not driving it? No... I do know that it happens though. I punctured a couple headers with an actual 21 conversion maxx that gives you a little extra room anyway. The integy tower bent like butter. I've done a few modifications to make as much room there for mistakes as possible. I run a 4 1/8 buggy shock setup, with RPM towers. I mounted the shocks on the back side of the tower, cut the nub off that holds the shock out further on the inside and counter sunk the nut that's on the bolt that's holding the actual shock on. I have about 3/4 to an inch of clearance there now, but it still bends on a bad tumble wipe out and dents the header occasionally. I gave up on replaceing headers and now I just patch it with cold steel weld and a pipe clamp. Not the prettiest, but I don't care about looks... it's quite obvious!

You can see the clearance here:

I have changed it some since this pic. I did the stuff I said up above. It gave me about another 1/4 inch than what you see here. But like I said, this is a XTM 21 conversion chassis that gives you a little more room in the rear to house the 21 engine.

I agreed that integy products look nice but never last. I had their skid plate for only 2 days and it is in trash now. For the shock tower, I will just wait and let it bent. Probably going to get RPM or HCR as replacement. I gotta save up and get RPM steering blocks next week. I would do the same thing too if the header broke. (seal it and go) :)

One question olds97_lss, why you have the stock bumper on the body post?

I get that a lot... I can't afford replacing my body every weekend so I cut the rear of the body off, hoseclamp the body to the roll bar and the upside down bumper on the shock tower catches the ground less than two little ears sticking up. It also gives me a line of clearance between the top of the roll bar to the shock tower for the engine head when I roll over.

If you look at my pics in my gallery, you will quickly learn I'm about function completely. I don't give a rats ass about looks. I drive alone mostly, no one to impress. If it saves me $ or downtime, I do it.

As for the RPM steering blocks, I've never converted. The only benifit I see is that they support larger bearings. I just couldn't ever pony up the $60 for a full set.

This is an old pic when I used the integy shock tower, but with the body on, you get a better idea of what I'm talking about:

Sweet!!! The best body I ever seen dude :)

What engine on your maxx and where do you get that kind of rollbar? I wanted to get a rollbar just like that, it is easier to take parts out compared to full rollcage. Will it fit factory t-maxx chassis ?

Currently, I have an OS 21 RG, the engine in the pic is an Omega 21 Comp buggy engine. The Omega is now on my savage.

The roll bar is New Era's 3 point roll bar and it's made for the 2.5 maxx. I had to drill a couple holes to get it to fit on the 21 maxx.
