The stock pinion and spur worn down today. Is the gearing standard 48P gears or a odd pitch size? If its an odd size, do they offer 48P gears so I can use my existing gear collection from my other cars?
Steel pinion definitely. Pretty sure stock pinion is a 23 and spur is a 68 I believe?
Gonna get a few extra pinion and spur gears anyways

At that point you should get the "High Speed Gearing" set, that comes with a few spur gears and an adapter for other spur gears.

Tamiya uses 0.6 mod pinions, you can buy a bundle of no-name coated aluminum pinions on eBay or a set of steel Exceed/Redcat pinion gears on Amazon. Robinson Racing pinions are good but you'll nickel and dime yourself buying them individually. Skip Yeah Racing pinions, their grub screws round out fast.
