If you're trying to route your fuel or pressure tubing around an engine and keep it in place away from overheating you might try this solution:

This is a 16 or 18 gauge ring connector soldered to a piece of pushrod wire bent into a ring.

This piece is anchored under the upper motor mount nuts and provides an excellent guide for the pressure tubing or the fuel inlet tubing.

Hey, nice idea.... How did you get that covering over the fuel line?? I got some awhile back at the bash, but never asked how to put it on... Woodie may have said how, somewhere between bear humping & handpuppets, but I'll be damned if I remember...

That is a cool tip. I haven't installed my fuel line covers yet either. Thanks for reminding me though. I am working on putting my maxx back together. If I remember correctly WoodiE said he used a solidering iron to cut it. What did you use wdavidhicks?

Goo tip Hicks!

Yes, use a solderring Iron to cut it. Use shrink wrap on the ends.

When you go to install the fuel line, push the ends of the coverring towards eachother (or towards the inside). This will cause the coverring to Open up. Then, install the line and pull the coverring ends away from eachother to snug it up. Almost like the chinese handcuff trick.

Nice tip. Where did u guys buy the coverings from?

It's not in the shop link on the main menu. Where exactly?

Gotta love that braided fuel line cover...
This is the blue stuff. Take my word for it, cut it with heat. I cut mine with heavy scissors. And after my last bash, I noticed one end of the fuel line pulled from the shrink tube and frayed. So melt the end before you slip it on. And do it like Christian said. Push the ends towards each other which will expand the braid. Cap it with the shrink tube and you're set.

Candyman- Where did u get the braided fuel line covering?

I used to be a purchaser for the company I work for before I went completely IT. That insulation I'm using was given to me by an electric motor rebuilder who we deal with all the time. It's electrical wire insulation, cuts with scissors, pushes right over the tubing (not a tight fit), and doesn't fray.

here is a photo of the braided line on my NTC3 that i got from WoodiE at the bash:

I did it just like i was told - cut the braided line with a clothes iron, and the slipped the heatshrink over the ends, shrunk it with my blowtorch. came out great.

smart idea david, regarding the router idea

Time for a bad joke...

NA, did you take that picture during your accident? I can't recognize a damn thing on it!!!!!

OK OK, just kidding. I put yellow on my RS4-3...

What's the point of the braided fuel line? Is it any better than normal fuel lines? Or is it just eye candy?

Mostly eye candy. But a lot of them have a high melting point so they protect your fuel line against heat from the head and pipe...

I've had my fuel lines resting directly on my high revving .12's header and they haven't melted or anything.

I dunno, maybe i'm out of it but i'm just not into the whole eye candy scene...lol

Talk to Chris, he's had all of my R/C Stuff since the new york bash. I've yet to receive any of it since then.
