hey geys i was just wondering if it would be cheaper too just rebuild my motor instead of swaping it with the traxxas lifetime replacement plan...and wat do i need to re[lace i do rebuild it...

THANKS GOTSPEED? (T-maxx)

It is cheaper to rebuild but why not spend a little more and go bigger. I ran my old 2.5 into the ground, about 20 gallons ran in it the last gallon was a pain. Moved up to a 3.3 and now the t-maxx wont keep the wheels on the ground. It turned out to be a hole new truck.

A proper rebuilds is not that cheap. When you rebuild an engine you should replace the following

piston/sleeve
connecting rod
bearings
seals, or use some rtv to seal the engine

If you only replace the piston/sleeve you put a lot of pressure on the other parts that are already used and they tent to fail.

If your sure your engine is toast I know someone that has a nice replacement engine for it:D

You might want to look into upgrading the motor to something other than a Traxxas motor... OS makes some really powerful motors that'll have that Maxx up and scooting..... And I think someone around here has one for sale rather cheap.... But I can't remember their name off the top of my head.......

This is true OS makes some really massive power plants as they do with all RC. But they are also a lot of $$$$$. You could buy one used but no mater now honest you think the person is well you don't know what the engine has gone through. I would rather buy a new engine that the company will stand behind when something goes wrong.
