Trx 2.5 help!

I recently swapped a trx 2.5 into my slayer when my 3.3 went to crap. Now it won't start. Iam using a fresh glow plug and even a fresh gas tank with new lines. It starts if I have my finger covering the carb but the doesn't start with the air filter in. I am thinking there is a leak but I have no Clue what to do about that.

Tell us more about the engine. Is it new or used? If it's used, how much fuel has been through it, how long since it was last run. If it was stored, how long, where, what was done befor storing it? How old is the fuel, where was it stored?

The car or even the block may be gummed up with old fuel.

Yeah it's a pretty old motor. It probably hasn't been ran in 3 years and my fuel is about 1-2 years old. I have maintained it though with after run oil and wd40. The fuel is still good though.
