looking for some opinions before i slap down some $$ on a new motor for next season.

I've narrowed down to 1 of 2 .21s for my Lightning stadium pro,

RB WS7 II and ofna 063 pipe
or
Novarossi p5 and ofna 086 pipe

Discuss away please.

Thanks
Paul

track is a large track, but with short aproaches to some of the jumps
couple of long straits.

With the short approach and heavy weight of the truggy, you will want a mill with a good low end power band. Consider some o fthe new .32's and .30's as well as the tried and true buggy motors like the V-Spec.

I'd go p5-jp1

The ws7II with a 086 is supposed to be killer as well.

I would stay away from bigger engines if you are running in races because they are harder on fuel.

P5 with the JP-1 pipe is a nice combo. I am not familiar with the WS711 engine but I see a lot of buggy racers use it.

How much of a fuel difference canthere be between the buggy .21's and a .30-.32? I guess you could save a bit of fuel and use the carb sleeves.

With a normal buggy tank (125cc) you get 8-10 min per tank with a .21 depending on your tune/driving style. With a <.28 your looking 5-7 min depending on your tune/driving style.

If you watch the pros race I'd have to say 75% run a .21 in their truggies.

yep running a 28 right now and best i can manage is 7 min runs. lookin for some economy and pwer, so going down the .21 road

RCTire, PM sent. All if your planning to race at all you need to watch the larger mills. Any track following ROAR or using ROAR guidelines will nix you if your running anything larger than a .28. One of the chair's posted on another forum that they aren't looking to change that anytime soon either.

I've got the JP FX21B5N on my XB8. It's freakin insane. I'm thinking of trading my old stock 2.5R for one of the 3.3R to have as a backup for the 18TM, which I still think I am going to have modded. Hell, I may even get the 3.3R as the backup and have it modded too! Stop the madness! LOL

Mr RC Tire, pm rec'd and replied.
