is there any way i can trued my motor without buying one of those lathe machines

Try the water trick I told you about in that other post. It's not as good as using a machine, but it will improve the surfaces of both the comm and the brush faces. Also, check this link out about motor break-in. Good stuff !!

That link is the biggest joke I've ever seen. And, water will do nothing to true a comm except destroy it. Run it dry for 2 -3 hours???????????????????????????????????????????????? That is great for the comm. :ahem:

Sounds like you are racing mod from your motor choice.

Take the motor apart stock or mod and clean it out well with motor spray.

Get your comm trued, a new set of brushes and springs.

Re lube the bearings.

I use Trinity Rev-Tech comm drops #4041, there is alot of other stuff out there for comm drops, put a drop on each new brush and run the motor for a couple minutes on a 4 cell pack or this is where the Turbo 35 comes in handy.

Take the brushes out and clean them off with just a short blast of motor spray to remove the gunk buildup from the comm drops. Touch up the face with a Trinity brush/comm cleaner. It's a small bunch of fiberglass strands that will knock the glaze off the brush. After every run, touch the brushes up with this brush to knock the glaze off.

You're ready to go, correctly. Everyone does something different, but I'll say this and be 100% sure, no one there breaks in or cleans their motor in water or runs it for 2-3 hours. That guy's dealing with a low RPM sealed endbell motor. They also sell, or did at least cans of motor spray for submersing motors in but you'll never catch anyone doing that in the racing RC world.

so running the motor in water will not do anything?
LIke 5 people told me to do that.

I'm pretty sure the running in water trick is only intended for closed endbell type motors.
A good idea to break in your brushes on an open can motor is to use 2 D cell batteries. Go to radio shack and get a battery holder that holds 2 D cells, and run your motor off of that just about untill the batteries run out. That will seat your brushes around the comm at only 3 volts, just enough to get the motor spinning.
