Trip into "The City"

Took another trip into the city and we had an escort onto Liberty Island. I guess there was a heightened alert because of the recent Terroist threats made to New York.

Also went up the Empire State Building and it took forever becuase of security checks etc. It was still fun... I haven done that stuff since i was in grade school...

Can you go into the Statue of Liberty yet or is it still closed?

I agree... i have some shots of that area off of the empire state building and to tell you the truth it makes me very angry everytime i see that.... I have some friends who have family and friends that lost people in the towers and I can only imagine how it makes them feel..... I know a captain from the NYFD that still can not get over the fact that he was off that day and feels resposible for his friends and co-workers that died that day..... he felt maybe he could have made a diffrence that day if he was there... i dont mind this thread taking this direction because I think we all need to be reminded of that day and how we must stay strong to protect our way of life......

I've lived upstate almost all of my life and I've only seen NYC from the air. Looks like a cool trip.
