Hello,
I am having problems with my traxxus...I fired it up tonight after it has been sitting for a couple of weeks and I have a steering issue now...I replaced the batteries in contoller and servo and I'm wondering if the grade of the batteries are an issue..if not, I think it's an electrical problem. Can you guys tell me where to start or do you have any ideas???

Thanks,
Josh

Hi. What kind of steering issue are you having? twitching servo? tight steering? Non responsive servo? You can try swapping the other servos and see if it responds nicely. if you ran your tmaxx on water, and left it sitting wet for a couple of weeks, the servos "might" have gone bad, others might say the stock servo are no good. i tend to agree because the servos that came with the stock tmaxx is not strong enough to even steer the tmaxx while on full stop. but it still serves its purpose. also try to inspect the steering mechanism for dirt, rust or whatnot. I hope that helps. good luck. Happy rc-ing to you.

wen i am running it it starts to act up like it went full throttle on me once where i had absoluelty no control over it and it will cruise along and just steer left an stay that way till i correct it then it will do the same thing...it doesn't correct wen i shut off either just stays hard left so i have no idea...

Thanks, Josh

Pick up a rechargeable rx hump pack and the appropriate charger. Traxxas sells the power pack that comes with everything you need, but there are better batteries out there. This is a good time to install a failsafe as well. It sounds like your issue is voltage related. AA batteries can't supply the proper amount of juice for very long.

They aren't designed to turn the wheels at a full stop. The use centrifugal force while moving to steer. I imagine that a higher torque servo can be installed to change that though.. but not much point in steering at a full stop anyhow.

hey JRocket have you figure out the problem? I have a very similar problem but only left turns and 2/3 to full throttle and no hump pack yet. Do you have the AM or FM setup?
