RC Driving Style
I just thought i share something with you guys. I got a duratrax nitro rc car with a ST18-S engine nissan body. I was driving it and some random guy came up to me and asked me if i wanted his traxxis 4-tec 2.5 for free. Ill post some pictures so you guys could tell me what its really missing. I'm hoping for a list of what I'm probably missing by the looks of the pictures uploadfromtaptalk1401585372143.webpuploadfromtaptalk1401585455626.webpuploadfromtaptalk1401585523460.webpuploadfromtaptalk1401585584229.webpuploadfromtaptalk1401585663638.webp

First make sure the engine has compression, then you will need a new glow plug, fuel lines, fuel tank, pullstarter for pro .15 and an igniter

Glow plug seems to work pretty well. why new tank?

Yes that is where the pull starter goes. You need to clean the air filter and rinse out the fuel tank real good. Get the transmitter working and check the servos. Does the starter box work? If you are going to use the box, you still need to cover the exposed starter shaft and keep dirt out of there. On the up stroke of the piston (when the engine is sucking in the air and fuel charge) it has the potential to suck in dirt around the starter shaft if it is not sealed good. I looked and I don't see a closed back plate for a 1.5 engine so installing a pull starter is probably the best fix for that.

I need to try it because he didn't have the charger for it.

Theirs something else

I’ve run many pro.15/2.5 and 3.3 engines with the starter shaft exposed with no issues.
If the starter box works I wouldn’t be afraid to run it as is without a pull start.

I would look at making the brake/throttle linkage setup he has on it a little more reliable.
Brake looks to be too loose and throttle linkage will probably hang-up the way it is.
