Traxxas X-maxx ESC problem won't power off

My esc powers up when I plug in the batteries. I cannot shut it off unless I unplug the batteries. Also the center red light next to the V stays lit up. I have tried to run it and it only has little to no power. Any suggestions on what this might be?

I would recommend you call the traxxa technical support team and tell them what your problem is. They will talk you through any problem and help you work them out on the phone. If it's something they can't fix on the phone they will send you a new part.

Thank you, I have called them before and yes they were great . I guess that would make the most sense.

I have seen this with three different new dual battery powered Traxxas vehicles in the past couple weeks.
XRT, UDR, Max Slash all power on with the button, but will not shut off unless unplugging the batteries.
My older UDRs and other dual battery cars both power on and off with pressing the power button.

Only common denominator is that they are all dual battery RC.
Wondering if its not some sort of safety BS that makes you unplug them now to shut them down.

Anymore info out there on this topic.
