I was wondering if the ram air and dual exhaust is worth it? because for christmas i'm probaly getting the t maxx 3.3 so are those two things worth buying, also will these two things work together

one more thing, when buying these wheels do they come in a pack of 4 or do you have to buy them seperate?

Guessing the ram air is a bit of a gimmick and depending on the exhaust, it may be as well. Got a link to the pipe your looking at?

Integy isn't known for high quality. The parts look good, but they are usually very soft and bend easy.

The wheels come in packs of 2, so you have to buy 2 packs.

ya, here's the exhaust

If that's not good, what air filter and exhaust do you recomend along with what bumper do you recomend?

I can tell you from first hand experience, STAY AWAY FROM THE RDLOGICS DUAL PIPE! I had one and aside from bending both outlets in the first run, they do not have enough back pressure to push fuel into the carb. You will be disgusted with the lack of strength of the pipe, and the performance. It's damn loud, but other than that it's a peice of junk.

Alright thanks, can anyone reccomend a good exhaust that's loud.

on my tmaxx it did not come with tuned pipe.
myne came with a plastic one.

But my truck peforms way better now

did you watch video??

it shows the power

I'm sure you can find a pipe thats louder, but traxxas put a lot of engineering into that tuned pipe..It was designed for that engine so you may have trouble finding one thats going to make more (noticeable) power.

Motor savers makes a nice filter now:

They made one back in the day that had a tendency to let the end cap fall off and the filter element fall out. The new one is much better in that regard. They breath really well too.

For the pipe, I tried a similar resonator (single chamber) on my jato vs the stock plastic one and it is definitely louder and gives better power for the 2.5 or even my OS18Tm.

One that I tried that sounded really cool and gave great power on my revo (when I had it) was a fantom steel pipe. Sounded like a motocross bike. A nice "ding ding ding ding" sound when idling and a sharp tinny bark when on the gas.

I had this one:

They make one for the maxx too:

May have a hard time finding one though.

As for a bumper, I'd go with RC Solutions spring steel skid/bumpers. Much more durable.

I ran those, but I put a rubber grommet behind them to limit how far they would bend and to absorb hard hits. With a dremel and some time, you can make it look not bad. I didn't spend that time.... :)

If you use GH bulkhead braces, they have a nice hole in the middle that will allow you to put a bolt through and it will be strong, it's what I ran years ago:

Rear: http://www.ghhobby.com/proddetail.php?prod=2217B

GH makes some really well made stuff for the maxx.

Here's what mine looked like (XTM 21 conversion chassis, but still a maxx at heart):

Was tough as nails with alloy bulks. I had literally hit concrete walls with that thing and it would just bounce back off. I have bad depth perception... doesn't work well when at a concrete skate park. ;)

My only remaining issue was keeping diffs that lasted. Now with revo style diffs, that shouldn't be as much of a problem. I had this one 5 years ago. Pre-revo world...

Thanks everyone, i think i'm going to buy the truck, also buy a new front and rear bumper, also buy a new body, new exhaust, also new air cleaner, and new wheels, and then i'll work my way up to a full aluminum chassis, everything.

Buy RPM suspension arms though, if you wreck with aluminum ones they will bend up and cause you lots of headache to take it apart and fix.

Absolutely not!! The dual exhausts are a joke and for what it is a stock air filter is good enough. I would put the money into a nice (single exit) pipe and manifold. Mine is a THS 1045. It came with everything I needed to put it right on and made a world of difference on my worn out 6 gallon 3.3. Might wanna save for some wheels and tires too the stock ones on a 4908 tmaxx are crap.

Hey man I'm looking for one of those roll bars can you hook me up?

Their arms and towers are good if you don't mind a bit of flexing. Great stuff for a basher like me.

So the RPM products would be good for me then, because all i plan to do is jump and drive it around.
