I installed the Traxxas sway bar kit on my revo last week, & fitted the silver softer sway bars. I took it out to test it at the weekend.

It was fine on the flat surfaces, but when i started jumping it broke the left rear rocker around the bearing on the pivot post.

I changed the rocker & re-drilled the sway bar hole & had another go, but after a few mins it broke in exactly the same place.

I am now witing for alloy rockers to arrive, hoping that this might fix the problem.

I have done HUGE jumps before & never broken a rocker, then i install the sway bar kit & it breaks the same one twice one day.

Can anyone shed any light on why it should break the rocker?

if you going to get alluminum rockers, i would go with the Tenko Sway bar kit.

cuz if it was me, i wouldnt be drillin my aluminum rockers

check out the Tenko one

I already have the Traxxas setup & i'm not bothered about drilling the ally rockers. Thne problem is finding alloy rockers with enough material to drill through! The Traxxas setup shouldn't break the rockers in the first place though.

call traxxas maybe they can help you out. i never installed the traxxas ones. but the Tenko sway bars are Great

It seems odd that it would break the rocker.

I do think it’s a piss poor design and could not figure out why they didn’t just make the rears the same as the fronts like Tekno did unless they didn’t want to copy Tekno since they came out with theirs first.

I have a set of Tekno’s on my ERevo and could not be more happy with them. It keeps the rubber on the ground during hard cornering

i couldnt agree with you more Robmob.

i didnt know that tenko had came out with the sway bar kit first. i wouldnt be surprised thats why they made the rear that way cuz of tenko design.

its def a flaw in that rear kit.

I've heard alot of good things about the Platinum revo rear sway bar kit. they sell them on the bay for pretty cheap too. maybe look into getting that rear set up

I have a revo Platinum and i was doing sum high jumps on the weekend and the sway bar kit was ok but i think i may have broke a shock

The platinum sway bar kit is the same as the standard kit only with red anodized link arms.

There is a rather simple way around drilling rockers........................

All you need, is two longer bolts, 2 pivot balls to suit and two longer turnbuckles.

In short, remove the bolt that goes through the rocker where the shock end is mounted to the rocker, replacing the bolt with a longer one that ALSO has the pivot ball on it. next, connect the ball end and all you then have to do is fit the longer turnbuckle and no more worries about broken rockers, especially since the force is directed from/to the point at which the shock mounts to the rocker.

Hope this helps, as its a fix/trick i used on my (now stipped down to be rebuild) Revo 3.3 that worked well.

Yes, i am aware this is an old thread, just thought i would add some useful info to it is all.

i had the traxxas sway bar set and i kept on bending the rear sway bar,now I switched to the Tekno Sway Bar set for the rear and have not had a problem since,
