Traxxas reciver loosing contact

So I put in the Traxxas Telemetry system in my Slash, well here is the problem I have been having when using the Traxxas Link app my reciver looses contact,, but if turn the app off it never looses contact, sometimes it will work no with no problems at all,, I have even tried changing batteries for the reciver and even with new batteries it breaks contact
