Hello I have a 30 year old traxxas nitro vee I'm trying to get running. I don't plan on taking it out, I'm afraid I'll flip it over and it will be stuck in the middle of a lake. Anyway, in the instruction manual it says to use aviation fuel that has a castor blend in it. But if I'm just starting it just to idle the engine do you think I can get away with using just regular traxxas nitro fuel?

Not a boat expert, but if you use regular glowplugs, regular nitro car fuel should be alright. Boat engines behave similarly to car engines.
Only plane and heli engines require different fuel with more oil because of the constant high RPM.

Use airplane fuel with 10 to 15% nitro, 16 to 18% oil. No sinthetics only blends."

What percent nitro is your Traxxas fuel? 20% or 33%? I believe they're both 18% oil, so if it's the 20% nitro and you're just idling it / blipping the throttle you should be fine.
Torco's 15% nitro Airplane blend would fit the bill if you do want to run it more, with an 18% oil content, 2% of which is castor.

I had one of those boats. Super Detail looking vessel. If I'm correct, mine had an electric motor as well for when you ran out of fuel? So basically a true "Hybrid " before "Hybrids" where a thing!

I'm working on a revovery boat with twin 502's and blowers. 
Actually, boats running at high rpm for longer periods of time makes sense. At least it always made sense on my boats.
