I have a traxxas Nito Rustler that I have just upgraged the engine to a 3.3 TRX. I am experiencing two issues. One I keep eating stock spur gears. I just recenly ordered a metal spur gear to replace the stock. What I am concerned with next is when I install the metal spur gear, will the Rustler stock transmission be able to withstand the torque. I usualy run my cluch adjustment fairly tight but not tight enough where is dosn't slip. Two with the 3.3 installed the truck leans to the left a little off jumps due to the extra wheight of the bigger engine I assume. I can compensate for that with the front tires when the truck is in mid air but it's an inconvience. My next step was going to be adding some type of counter weight. My first thought is to slowly add weights a little at a time near the right front of the fuel tank. with all that being said does anyone have any tips, suggestions, or have experience the same issues with this upgrade.

for the spurs make sure you are meshing it right and have the motor in there strait... another make sure your cluth bell isnt messed up at all too.. I had one that the teeth were sharp as heck and was ripping the teeth off the spurs... and yeah I think adding a couple counter weights might help out.. what you could do is try and weigh the 2.5 and then the 3.3 and see what the weight difference is so you know.... what if you were to put a bigger gas tank on it.. well it would help when full so I think the counterweight would work better..... wait a few and see if anyone else on here will have any ideas... we got alot of pretty smart people at our fingertips here.. good luck!! And I can just imagine how insane that little buggy must be... I did the same thing with a classic tmaxx that came with the 2.5 and that thing is sooo much faster then the new 3.3 models!!! I know my maxx would beat a jato in a drag so i could imagine what that motor does for that rusty!!

Your going to need a hardened steel clutch bell to go with the steel spur.
You need to find the reason for the chewed spurs, not mask it with a steel spur.
