Traxxas Maxx V2 esc upgrade

Does anyone have any suggestions on which esc I should consider for my Maxx v2?

Welcome I would go castle mamba X , or a hobby wing maxx 8. But the maxx line as been haven issues lately. I personally would go castle. Little more money. But we'll worth it IMO...

Is the stock motor in the Maxx v2 censored?

Did the esc crap out??
The stock Traxxas system is most likely not sensored. Guessing your a basher? Sensored isn't really needed for bashing it's nice. But more towards racing

Ya that’s my basher. I just like to upgrade things I guess. Research says people don’t like the stock esc’s

Oh yea I get it. You can't always go off what you read or hear bud. I personally would wait till it craps out before changing it. By all means you want too change it go rite ahead. It's true traxxas electronics do suck for the most part. But they do well for stock electronics. Just like when I researched the Xmaxx before I bought it. Everyone said the esc's poop the diffs blow out the tires rip off. I cab go on and on. Well it's been almost a yr. And my X is still stock for the most part. What you read isn't them telling you how they were treating their truck. Only says this part sucks and it's broke... nothing else...

Yes that’s very good advise! I appreciate your input and I think I’ll take it. Probably best to wait until the “basher” gets bashed and broken. It rocks pretty good stock after all.

Yeah the built a good one with the 4s maxx.. if you dont like waiting around for parts. You could just order your self the esc. Then when it finally craps out just change it. As long as your not doing speed runs in sand. Or in tall grass you should be good. How new is it. Did you check all the diffs shock oil. Gear mesh all that stuff???

I think I picked this truck up maybe 3 or 4 weeks ago. I did check the gear mesh. I also changed all 4 shocks oil to 80 weight. I also opened up all the diffs to have a look while cleaning after I got it all muddy. I'm just bashing and playing around having some fun while I am not at the track racing.

Nice you also race cool beans. What do you race? Ok cool so still brand new really..Wow your running 80wt. I don't even have 80wt in the X. Are you still running stock springs? Vg racing in calli makes some really nice/good shock springs. They are where I get all my springs from. Yeah when I brought the X. I took it all the way down to the chassis screw for screw. Went over the entire truck. New diff fluid. It was a little low and light. Went 50k all around. New gears 20/50 hardened steal, new shock oil 60wt and stiffer springs.. new fasteddy bearings and oiled..new fans cooling fans savox servo. The problem with these trucks is everyone thinks. They are ready to go out the box which they are to a point. People need to think they are put together at factory as fast as they can. And not checked 100% before boxed. That's why I like to build them from chassis up..
