i have 3 lhs and only one sells o'donnells well there is a sidwinder challenge or something going on about 45 minutes from me and the guys that went bought all of the o'donnells every gallon and every quart.

so i bought what they had cause i wanted to bash today and got a quart of traxxas fuel. what garbage. i swaer i could not get this truck to run smooth and punchy. when i did get it smooth it would start to sputter on the top end.

i treid to lean it out 2 1/2 turns on the hsn and dont even remeber on the lsn lean wouldn't act right, rich made it even worse. i'll never use that fuel in my life.

total garbage. if you want a smooth running vehicle don't use traxxas fuel.

i did bash the whole quart out today.

man I'm spoiled in that o'donnells and i see why all the vets run it. astronomically unridiculous fuel to say the least.

thought i would vent some and save anyone else that may decide to buy traxxas fuel.

actually traxxas fuel runs fine. just like any intermediate fuel. blue thunder, monster horsepower, odonnel R2R, etc. you just need to work on the tune to get it right.

I agree, and in a Traxxas engine, it's very dependable.

Yep, must be something you are doing in your tune. I have never, ever had a problem with Traxxas Top Fuel. Did you get the same % as you normally run?

Traxxas Top Fuel is good fuel I have never had a problem with it.

oh it ran fine, but i played w/ the needles and tuned through the entire quart and couldnt get it right to save my life. o'donnells tuned it and didn't have to touch the needles anymore.
i even started with factory settings. took a long time to get her warm enough to begin tuning. about 2 tanks just to warm her up.
i got it close to were i wanted it,but not like the o' donnelss.

then again I'm comparing traxxas to o'donnells. big difference.

is there a extra tank mod for the savage? if so can someone post it.

same percent, just could not find the sweet spot on the hsn . when i first tuned her she ran sweeet and smooth good clean top speed, and low punch, and i ran her with that setting but after 2-3 tanks she began sputtering on the top end and no matter how much i tweak the hsn back and forth she wouldnt act right..

just wasn't smooth and consistant after a few tanks.

Yeah, if you are running a Savage, then I retract my statement. Traxxas motors run best with Traxxas Top Fuel.

Plus, I see you live in LA. The past two days it has been pretty warm around here. That will kill your tune real quick when the weather changes that much. I ran my RS4-3 SS yesterday and had to lean it out just a bit to make it take full throttle.

tarant if you read my og post you would see all the o'donnells was bought up by guys heading to hotrod hobbies challenge.

I am currently running top fuel in my savage also and have No problems with it. I had some left over from my old maxx, and ran out of smurf juice (Blue thunder) and I didnt notice anything.. Has always worked fine for me..

well it did warm up as the day went on so I'm thinking maybe the change in temp as the day progressed was the issue.i geuss when i have issues to start back at the beginning. i'll do that from now on. there is nothing like a smooth top end and punch when hitting my 5"ft pile of sand. oh she like to jump i might add. the sand pile on the left of the pic is her master piece.

if the lsn is to lean will that make her top end sputter no matter what i do to the hsn?

it will make the engine overheat, and once that happens it will sputter and flame out no matter how your tune is until it cools back down again.

I have done 2 breakin s thus using odonnel. The engine wouldnt start with odnnol but would with traxxas. I like traxxas for early tanks odonnel for older tanks...

Maybe ya just got a old batch of it or something, or someone wizzed in it..lol.. Cuz all the stuff I've used has worked fine.

I've used Top Fuel all the time. I've had 3 different engines, from 3 different manufacturers. Top Fuel ran them all fine. Maybe it's the fact that traxxas puts alot more oil in their fuel(accordins to my lhs), and your engine tuning.

my lhs uses this S&W fuel, and traxxas top fuel. i have used both fuels and i am impressed with the top fuel, but i normally run the S&W fuel becuase i like it better. I'm sure not many of you guys have heard of S&W fuel though. But if you see it then get a bottle of it, it is really good stuff

maybe your right, cause the left over bottle i had ran fine, and then thius bottle just wouldn't act right. all the other brand fuel the lhs has is all gone except for tons of top fuel. things that make you go hmmmm
