I am tunning my 2.5, I am following the charts and seem to get a good tune, a little doggy yet IMO but I think a little more tunning is in need, my question is this though, I notice my engine really takes off good and sings a long really great at WOT when the fuel is low - out, Is this normal or is this a bad thing, and what needs to be done to fix this.

I would like the truck to carry this performance when I fill it up and run the tank empty, not just have great pick up and go once it is getting low on fuel.

Thanks,

Kyle

Your a little rich on your full tank tune. Maxx's develop what is called a lean condition when fuel runs low. It's best to keep the fuel level where the truck will run consistently, and finish tuning from there. Proline makes a tank that solves the problem as well. So I've heard anyways. Never tried one.

If I lean it out more, it wont be to lean when it gets low on fuel will it?

As Matt said, they have a tendancy to get lean as you vet low on fuel. If ya got good smoke on a full tank, lean it out a bit. Small clockwise turns at a time. When it gets low on fuel, you should be ok. As long as you got a nice trail of smoke from the pipe.

Yeah it has good smoke when its low on fuel right until it shuts down, I think it is to rich yet myself i have a pretty good trail, and i notice my left rear tire gets covered in fuel so it obviously is to rich yet, it goes through fuel pretty fast too lol I'll lean it out a little more. Thanks for the info.
