Traxxas 2.5 vs 2.5r

My buddy has offered to give me a 2.5r off of his revo. What is the difference between the two??

I believe just the head... but I could be wrong. Regardless, I wouldn't turn down a free engine...

Head and some internal porting/shaping. No outside dimensional differences. Will bolt right up to the Maxx header and pipe. In fact, if you join the Traxxas engine exchange program, after you send them your regular 2.5, they will always send back to you a 2.5r.

So I can bolt my Revo motor into my Tmaxx...very interrestingonder2:

I gave up on this idea after talking to my LHS...I really need to stop talking to that guy:nono: Anyways, this engine exchange program with Traxxas, does the motor have to be running to swap and anyone know how much it would cost? Just looking for a cheap way to get me a 2.5 of some kind for the Tmaxx.
