hey guys, me friend has the Traxxas 2.5 engine in his maxx. he has had it for about 5 months or so and this is the second time for him having to send the engine back to traxxas because parts of the piston itself broke off.

this is wierd because he wasn't running it wrong. the temps stayed about 250 all the time, so it wasn't burning it up. it was running a hair rich, but that is how he kept the temps down.

when he took the engine apart i thought that he piston rod was broken but when i looked a big chunk of the piston was broken off. it was the second time that it happend and i am very puzzled by that. does anybody know what might have went wrong cause i sure as heck dont!!:wtf:

no, the piston was all cracked up. and the dumb this is that traxxas is so f****** dumb that they wont warranty it. they said, "looks like you took pliers to it and broke it off yourself"!!! that was a direct quote from the e-mail that they sent my friend.
