hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and i bet you have heard this ? a millon times. I saw the other post about the guys tmaxx that wouldnt move. well i have a similar problem. I just bought my tmaxx used. I started it up and took it for a spin. well at first it takes alot of rpm's for th trany to engage but when it dose it makes a bad grinding noise and slow gets up and going but when it gets going it dose good and no noise or grinding. So i cheacked the slipper clutch it was fine so i pulled the trany out and all the gears are ok. Any ideas. another thing how much would a new trany cost. Thanks a lot.

You may be mistaking the reverse for the grinding noise. It does engage kinda slowly becuase it has its own clutches, and even though you are going forward, it still has to engage a seperate clutch.

Or, the one way in the trans could be going bad. There's a one way inside the 2speed mechanism that you can replace. If you do replace it, I'd also recommend replaceing the shaft it's on as well.

Well guys i figered it out and now i feel like the most retarded person. The bearing on the stur gear went out and it was causing the gear to be unbalanced on the shaft and the gear would get close then far away from the cluth bell and cause the gears to grind but once it got up to speed it would balance out. So now i need a new bearing and clutch bell cause i stripped teeth of it. Well thanks alot and sorry for the dumb question
