Transmission Shifting?

Should I be able to hear it shift (2 speed)?

I "thought" i heard it shift before but i don't hear anything now???

yes.. expessialy if you slowly give it gas from idle

its the plastic spur gear. my cen mt2 did the same thing after awhile the "ledge" on the inside of the spur gear wears down.after running for some time the pin that sticks up to grab the spur gear to shift into 2nd wears the ledge down and smooths it out so it wont shift no more! i would take the gear apart sometimes and use a hot flathead screwdriver to melt the flat edge back.:OMG: it works or the other option is to replace the 2nd gear.

yes, when it goes in 2nd, the engine will make a different pitch and stay in that pitch until you downshift(slowdown)

I'm not hearing it shift... I haven't drove it that much, maybe 1 1/2 quarts.

I'll take a look at the "ledge" or an attempt and see what I find.

Its also adjustable (at what rpm's you want it to shift) could this have anything to do with it?

i make it kick in when the engine tops out in the first gear.

It was the gear... swapped it out...mine also shifts at higher speeds/rpm's...
