an internal adjustable clutch. You can tighten the adjustment screw or loosen it depending on whether you want it to shift sooner or later.
 
Were is the internal adjustable clutch at. I'm a buggy man but my friend has a tmaxx and i'm lost
 
on the top of the transmission you will see a black rubber plug. Unplug that and rotate the flywheel, look down in to the tranny through the hole, you will see two allen head screws in there. The one that goes in straight locks the clutch to the shaft, the one at a slight angle is the adjustment screw.
 
When you pull the plug, you have to spin the spur until you see the notch in the gear inside. Then you hold the spur stationary and spin the shaft that is sticking out of the trans that appears to have no purpose... it will now have purpose for you. As you hold the spur and spin the apparent usless shaft, you will see the allen set screws NCNitro is talking about.

It may make more sense if you download the parts explosion or read the manual. It tells you exactly how if I remember correctly. It's been a few years...
 
When you are ready to adjust it, think of it as a clock. Turn the clock or screw from noon to 1, 1 is later than noon, so it will shift later. Want it to shift earlier? Back it up from noon to 11.
Don't go too far at once. Doing it 2 or 3 times will give you the spot you want.
 
OK while we are still on the subject I hear some people say they Lock their tranny in to secound gear why do people do this what are the advanteges
 
I never heard of doing that. It well make for slow starts, and excess heat and wear on the clutch.
Are you sure you're not thinking of FOC, or Forward Only Conversion, eliminating reverse?
