I am looking for a metal tranny housing. The only one I have found thus far is the RD Logics housing.
Anyone know if this is any good? Or of another one thats better?

Well I would assume its good, considering the stock one is plastic. but it may be heavy i'm not sure. seems as it is alim. or titanium or whatever thats not plastic.

It looks ok...
I am looking for something thats a bit more like the older Robinson Racing transmission cases that where thicker machined rather then stamp pressed thin.

Well you would be sacrificing some major weight. I mean adding. That would be heavy. The idea of pressed thin aluminum is that it is stronger than plastic but doesn't add a ton of weight. I haven't been in nitro that long but I have never heard of a machined one. Maybe you will have to get one custom machined. In which case I would take the stock one and get it duplicated. Maybe titanium or aluminim. Sorry for the long post. I just would like to see a custom tranny housing.

well flandersander what you described sounds like one pricey tranny cover. lol

I know Racers Edge made one, that's what I bought many years ago for my 2.5 BB chassis maxx. It was milled and it was a total PITA to get the bearings out. But I didn't have any issues with gear mesh inside the trans and I didn't strip the mounting bolts ever. My wife bought it for me with about $200 worth of other stuff for christmas that year.
