Hey guys well for the 1st time I've got to take my tranny apart . Everytime i brake hard it sounds like a cog is slipping and will slip even turning the wheels by hand . Its definatly not my diffs front one is brand new and the rear is rock solid . The noise is DEF coming from the tranny . So i ask how do i go about taking it apart any tips and stuff to remember and watch out for . Any help with be appreciated as always . Thanks . Ash .

If you have the 2.5 trans, do you have the FOC? I know that when I put mine in, it sounded funny in the trans, but after further investigation, I realized that this sound was normal and my truck runs fine, it was due to less parts inside of the trans casing. If you do not have the FOC, consider getting it, it makes a difference!! Unless of course, you like the reverse aspect of the Tmaxx. Just a thought.

If you make sure that you print off the exploded diagram from the Traxxas website, and seperate all of the parts so you know where they came from, you will have no problems.

Its the grey one with opticrunch lol . Going to crack on with it today . Will print off the pdf and get cracked on . Cheers .

Why not just order a new one off ebay for about $45 to the door, then you can repair the other at a later time...

Edit: I see your from england, might cost a bit more for shipping...

Yer its all full price over here . Apart from ebay . And dont trust it . And it weren't the tranny anyway . Upon closer inspection . My outer bearing on my front diff was missing so the front diff pin was all over the shot . New bearing on now and all sorted . I really should double check things before i put things back together again. Lol . I suppose you learn from ya mistakes lol .

yup..... I have converted over to all metal jacket bearings in my rigs and I seem to go through alot less bearings at times... FASTEDDY's is real resonable to get bearings from.. as long as you spend 20 bucks it is free shipping..... and the bearings are a buck apiece for all the bearings on the maxx's. I redid the bearings in my 3.3 maxx, classic maxx, and emaxx. sll the bearings only cost like 95 bucks for all the bearings for all three rigs..... taxxas charges 6 bucks for 2..

Yep, learned that lesson a long time ago. Start simple when trouble shooting :)
