Sure, it's short course related. We'll go with that.

Ever wonder what to do with all those extra tires (oh, and all that extra other crap) once you've been at it a while?

Here's a sketchy activity, quite helpful passing time during the winter months whilst waiting for the days of driving out on the track and costs very little, if anything.

I think it should be a valid sport honestly.

We call it "Trailer Trash Overlander." It has a few meanings for us. For here: Trailer Trash, well... means you trash em and has a hint of hillbilly to it. Overlander... well... they are off road so... a bit of clearance is required.

They are not show pieces... for long anyway. ;)

Take all that extra stuff, and make an off road flatbed trailer. Have your racing buddies do it too. Hook it to the rear bumper of your short course truck. A simple hook/chain thing will do, the jankier the better honestly. It's not rocket science.

Next, keep it light as the more weight you have, the slower you will go. Make the suspension on it really soft too.

Build it so the main beam (a 1" x 1" wood dowel here) hooks level-ish with your bumper, giving it a high CG. (it's off road, can't be high-centering on a fricken trailer now can we?)

Then, on the beam screw on a flatbed. (any plastic lid of some kind will do) Then, build a trailer of some kind with that thin cardboard (like kleenex boxes are made of) and some aluminum tape. (only ONE layer of Aluminum tape at the bottom is allowed hooking it to the flatbed) Make the sketchiest silly diorama you can think of using whatever you want. Be creative... perhaps include props like action figures, fake dynamite, etc. Perhaps a double wide? Drag an action figure behind it... hang one by its neck! Who knows. Keep it close to scale and it's party time.

Then... Race em that way. Loose your box, (or the trailer) lose the race. Drive to Save your trailer & box,... drive to wipe out others. Go until there's only one standing with trailer & box in one piece (that means not strewn about the course... dragging it along is fine. LOL!)

Seen here... just goofing off. It has a suspension, and handles quite well. The bottom half always tends to survive and the top gets wiped out every time.

Yep, you're reading it right. Competition, Performance, and Trailer... all in the same sentence.

Want more fun? Seeing the average trailer here is really just some janky unused front end of sorts... maybe make it steerable and get a partner to steer it.

That'll be fun eh?

Set them on fire and it turns into more fun that one should have on the 4th.

Anyway, just sharing some silly fun we have here at Back 40 RC Course. If this doesn't belong here, of course remove it.

LOL!

Trailer (trash) racing and "figure 8" school bus racing is what put Maine ON THE MAP!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Gotta get some beat up r/c's for water crossing like they do with snowmobiles too!
Crazy racing like this is SO FUN!!!

I LOVE this idea!!! ❤️❤️❤️

There was a great video on YouTube years ago with SCT & trailer racing. I can't for the life of me find it now.... I search for hours and hours last week to find it. I laughed so hard, because it was so amazing to see a truck and trailer racing on an off-road track. The track was not an oval. It was a full-fledged dirt off-road course with turns and jumps. Great stuff!
