Traction compound on street tires for the street?

Well since I stripped wheel hexes on the slash I plan to put the traxxas anacondas back on. I got ProTek medium grip compound spray. Just wondering if the tires will get more grip on the street if I used the spray? Traction compound is more used on clay tires or slicks for clay tracks.

Yes, the most effective compound I have used is PB Blaster, I spray it into an empty shock bottle and place a couple drops on a toothbrush to work it into the treads:

A less aggressive and far less stinky sauce is WD40 Dry Lube, you can simply spray it on the tires without any special application method:

If you want the best results, I recommend prepping the pavement by blowing off any dust first, then use a garden sprayer to mist the area with grape soda and wait 30 min for soda to dry and you'll get amazing traction.

never saw any ants appear on the school yard that we would prep with grape soda, here's a sample video of the makeshift track we used to setup with the Trackmate timing system, tons of grip!

I wonder if it has to be grape soda. Does brand matter? I wonder if diluted corn syrup would be just as good.

Or is it just because that's the cheapest soda at 99c for a 2L...

I'm not a chemist, but I think it has something to do with either the amount of sugar or how the sugar reacts with the grape formula that tends to make it more sticky than other flavors. Orange is the next best flavor then everything else after that will "gitterdone" but grape seems to have the best effect. Some people have added sugar to plain water as well but for the price, you can't beat the cheap generic grape soda as it is.

Very important to flush your sprayer when done, the nozzle will certainly get clogged because grape soda is THAT good

You have a source for cheap grape soda with sugar? Cause I damn sure wouldn't be pouring it on the ground I don't drink soda much these days because it's all made with corn syrup. But I loves me some Mountain Dew Throwback (real sugar)

Testing it out. On the rustler. FDJ Yellow dot compound. Usually use it on my clay slicks.

These are anacondas from Traxxas. A bit hard of a compound.

won't do any good unless the surface is prepped, need to blow any dust and spray track with soda, then test after soda dries, do not walk on the track or you will cover it with dust and lose grip

I put the 2.2 anacondas on my bandit vxl and they suck I've worn them completely smooth in 4 runs on 3s

Oh this was from last year. My original off-road tires. Duratrax six pack. I still have the front set. But the rear pair is long gone

I use anacondas on both my slash and rustler. I just did a tire rotation. Put the fronts on the rear and the rears on the fronts. When I ordered these tires, I ordered 2 pairs of the rears so.
