30 ft. If you notice on the front of the sled, there is no wheels, and as you pull it forward, a pully inside the sled moves the weight from the back, where the wheels are, to the front, so its pretty much just dragging dead weight. It takes about 10-13 ft to make the weights go all the way forward. Thats why you have to get your RPM's up, and wheels spinning and everything to get your (momentimum *SP) going to hopefully make it to the 30 ft mark.

how much can an outlaw over 20 weigh? Also what kind of tires are best? Or does it depend on what you are driving on? Also, Is yours a descent basher or racer?

Basher all the way. We mainly run in hard hard packed clay so the best tires are probably like some bowties or somthing. Outlaw in our devision must weigh over 20, and can weigh as much as you want it to. must be nitro though.

Rules - Truck Sled Pulling

1. Trucks will be separated into Small Block, Big Block and Unlimited Monster Truck classes.

2. Small block trucks can weigh no more than 15 lbs, Big block trucks can weigh no more than 20 lbs, Unlimited class trucks can weigh no less than 21 lbs. All trucks will be weighed before and after a run.

3. Once your truck is hooked to the sled, the chain must be pulled tight. Once your truck has stopped gaining forward momentum, an R/C Power Hobbies Track Official will signal you to stop, thus ending your pull. A measurement will be taken from the front of the pulling sleds friction plate. This measurement will be your recorded distance.

4. Drag race pulling lanes will be 4' x 30'

5. Drag race pulling: If your truck goes out of bounds on any part of the pulling track, it will result in disqualification.

6. Heavy weight pull track will be 8' x 30'.

7. Heavy weight pulling: If your truck goes out of bounds on any part of the pulling track, a measurement will taken at the point of the pull sled which crosses the out of bounds marker.

8. If two or more trucks record a full pull, then a pull off will take place in which 10 more pounds will be added to the sled until a winner is determined.

9. If your truck makes a full pull the R/C Power Hobbies Track Official will signal you to stop. If you disregard an R/C Power Hobbies Track Officials signal and over pull the sled your truck will be disqualified.

10. After you have completed your pull, you must place your truck at the designated tech area for inspection. You may not take your vehicle back to your pit area unless an R/C Power Hobbies Official releases your vehicle. (No exceptions!)

11. All vehicles and their components are subject to inspection and approval by the Track Director. Any components deemed unsafe to you, other competitors bystanders, spectators, and or track officials must be removed before the vehicle in question can compete.

Wow thats sweet. So does it have any special driveline or engine mods? Like gearing or anything?

Nope. Bone Stock. I couldnt see myself buying a $500 rc to strictly pull with. I bash the hell outa all i got, so y would i make an exception for somthing that i have already beefed up? lol

I guess. So anybodu could strap weights to any truck and pull something really heavy?

yea, but keep in mind that you ARE going to break things, from glow plugs, to connecting rods, to gears, axles, its a lot of pressure. and it takes a good driver too. (not me)

The hardest part is keeping the thing going straight, while turning the wheels back and fourth to try and grab some traction. With only a 4ft wide strip of driving track, pulling upwards of 60-70lbs of dead weight, its a lot harder than it seems. + you have to have the perfect tune to do it. Its usually a little more on the lean side, but I've seen guys/girls run upwards of 60-75% nitro fuel through their engines.

usually burns an entire plug in the 15-20 seconds of the run. I have seen a guy go through 12 plugs in one comp. He ended up flaming out during the last run and lost. Thats a lot of money for a little plastic trophy and a ribbon.

oh yea 30%. And most people don't believe me when I say that but not a word of a lie. You could get a full meal off a couple of them but man they were few and far between. And that smell... I think you just sh-arted a little bit.

sorry, we must be talking about an entirely different species here. I have been boiling what we here in louisiana call crawfish since i was 9 years old, and in those 12 years of cooking i have never seen a crawfish come anywhere remotly to 3 pounds. Never even close to one half a pound.

Well it might be a different species. We call them crayfish. They are much bigger than 1/2 pound most of the time and are a bluish color. I would think louisiana craws would be different than great white north canada crays.

It's a completly different species, like comparing a bass with a dolphin. What he is referring to is more of a lobster type species. Our crawfish weigh about 1/8 of a pound. It's nothing like what you guys up there have.
