what can i do to get more top end speed. i raced my friend to day we both got mad force's. i smoked I'm of the line even pulled a wheelie past him but he took me inn the end. i need more speed.

what gearing do you have? Pulling wheelies is cool for show but crap on a race. No traction means no distance travelled. Not familiar with the mad force but the principles of a race do apply. better suspension tuning goes a ways. your wheelies proves it. Sounds llike you are geared for torque or that engine you have is mad strong!!.

I'm a little confused on what ur saying.i got the part about the gearing. so mayb get gears for RPM instead of torque

Use a higher amount of teeth on the pinion gear and fewer teeth on the spur gear. This will give you a higher top speed with a lower amount of torque. Don't go overboard though, then he'll be so far ahead of you you won't be able to catch up once you get going.

try setting up the gears, my mad force would change into second at a walking pace and never even get into third, so much for them setting it up at the factory......

Also, running a stiff shock setup in the rear helps hinder wheelies... it may make it more prone to spinning though.

If it's fighting to pull a wheelie, I'd only suggest maybe going up 2-3 teeth on the CB. If it pulls dead stop wheelies all day long, then maybe 4 up on the CB and 4 down on the spur...

shockers don't make the blindest bit of differance, i tried locking mine up to see what it done.....nothing, only method is a good dose of lowering!

wouldnt a wheelie bar placed the right way take care of the wheelie's?

I could give a crap how much top speed my Maxx has. I like all the low end power you can get. Of coarse I still have the 2.5 in it. My 1/8 buggy has more power than it need at all speeds's for the tracks I run on, and though I've only really driven the MTX-3, I would like as much top end speed as it can possably have. I might change my mind once I drive it on a track.

Looks like everyone has brought up what I wanted to. Lol Sorry I haven't posted since. Wheelies are cool for the WOW factor but if you have no traction then againyou aren't winning. Top speed can be achieved though taller gearing or more teeth on both the spur and pinion. You just compensate for low end. A set of foams can help out a lot. That and great suspension. But if you are going to try for top speed then I would make sure you run at a richer setting so you don't overheat.

Good luck

Jon

there made so people can do whatever they want with em, but I'm a wheelie man myself;)
