I wanted to show what i came up with for my tool / parts box. Got these all at cabela's for about $70 bucks.
You can see how i used a heat gun to get the clear lid to fit and hold the tools. I have a HUGE set of tools but this is all "RC" specific stuff. If i need more than these tools... i need to take it back home.
Its evolving but this is the starting area. I Just got back into RC.
It was difficult to find ideas that worked for me, maybe this might help others.

I've got a similar Plano box (not quite as deep and opaque) with an divided box insert for the things like ball drivers, screw drivers, pliers, tweezers, clamps, lexan scissors, ignitors & a charger, glow plugs, small parts, gaskets, fasteners, servo tape, duct tape, X-acto kit, Lock-tite, After-Run oil, PB Blaster, WD-40, extra crystal sets, electrical tape and the other normal nit-noids we need to have with us on race day. I also have a red Kyosho field bag that holds one 1/8 buggy, or 2 1/9-1/10 on-road racers with a hand-held starting motor, 2-3 radios, el-cheapo MRP D/C quick charger, and a couple sets of mounted wheels/tires for each car (I put the SuperTen down with the tires, charger, and starter motor, then the top rigid piece with the other 1/10 car on top with the radios - tight fit, though). Then I have an old Tupper Ware field bag that pretty much holds just the NitroHawk, its radio, tires, and other stuff (Jeff made some rigid cardboard inserts just for it). Finally, I have a small box with just NitroHawk wheels & tires, and another with the rest of the HPI gear I snagged a few years ago (2 NRS4s - one base, one 'racer,' an SNRS4, 3 radios, a few sets of wheels/tires, a nice starter box, and who knows what else is in that box that I've forgotten about.

That's a nice set-up, Jim! I think it's time to get a couple of those Milwaukee Pack-Out boxes and get my shizzle in order. Thanks for sharing!

I just got this for Xmas.
Its not a bad box. Fits a 1/10 scale buggy in the box with no prob.
Haven't started fitting much in yet.

This isn't a $300 toolbox though.
I bought it for $50 so I scored.
The quality isn't real high. Hardware could be better, latches aren't great...
Time will tell how we do on the road.
For a lighter duty r/c wagon, it'll be fine I think! 👍
