I wanted to find something she haddent done to suprise her with, plus she has been saying she wanted to get a handgun for some reason, so i took her to the range and let her shoot a few handguns.

She shot a .380, a 9mm and a 40cal.

.380

she did good. she was able to keep them inside the 8 circle on the big target, and in the target on the smaller one. She said the 40cal hurt her hand a little, but it was tolerable. I was trying to teach her not to lock her elbows and use her left hand to pull against the right to stablize the gun. she said it felt better with her elbow bent slightly like i showed her, it helped to absorb some of the recoil.

She did a few rapid fire clips on the .380 and was pretty good with that to!

I'll be honest, I was hoping for her birthday suit :D

Thats thinking out of the box of things to do for a females birthday for sure, nice job.

I had a lady friend who liked to go to the range and fire her 10mm. It wasn't her firearms you had to watch out for, though. She collected knives. Her favorite was her rapier. Did I mention that her mom was called the "Dragon Lady?"

Yea, my girl is always asking me to bring her. She seems to enjoy it just as much as i do, but the biggest difference, I'm the one paying for it, and it is NOT cheap. Especially the .223 nowadays.

Yea, its just a total upper replacement. You can get an ar22 for under $500 these days. My biggest reason that i havent gotten one is because I train constantly with my ar. I know it like it is a part of me. The weight, the balance, the positions of the grips and sights. I can tell if there is as little as 4 rounds missing from a magazine. I wouldnt want to go to a different weapon of the same design, and lose all of that muscle memory with the weapon if it could and probably will save my life, or the life of another. So imma go with like a ruger 10/22 or a marlin .22 rifle.
