Well guys if uve read any of my posts I've been working on my conversion truck, its the 2.5 with ALL the 4908 upgrades, all that is left on the whole truck that is 2.5 is chassis and the chevron wheels n tires..oh and the body too. And... Well this bad boy will haul tail. Its mean, like crazy fast. I'm very impressed. Lol well here's the thing, it seems to only hook up good while I'm in the grass, and it'll do wheelies as far as u could see,but on pavement it seems to do nothing but blow the tires, it spins and drifts like crazy it has a lot of power and I was thinking would it be best to just finish my conversion with the newer 6.3 wheels n tires? Maybe the newer chassis? I really don't wanna go that rought considering, I have already got a set of 4949R center cvs for my truck and they only fit the short chassis. But if I did get the extended I don't want dogbones at all. So would it be a good/ less spin option if all I did was get the bigger wheels? Would they do just as good in the grass as the old chevrons, but better on the road? Please comment. Thanks

Yes the bigger tires would, but depending on how much heavier depends on how much power is robbed from the truck. Bigger, heavier tires can actually be too hard on the truck and cause problems with the diffs I have noticed. I myself would stick with the stock size tires, but I have no knowledge about the new 6.3 tire/wheels so I could really say anything else. If you want grass/street tires I want to say the Proline Mashers, but I'm not sure if thats the name of the tires I'm thinking of. They kind of look like the T Maxx 2.5 stock tires, but with more grip from what I've heard. I hope this helps.

Yea I'm trying to find out what people think about the 6.3s if I put them on my truck wouldn't it slow it down? Because I have the 4909 tranny with 54 tooth spur, what would it be like if I put the bigger 6.3 maxes on there?

I love the 6.3 tires that came on my 4908. They are a softer compound than the old chevron tires. So they hook up really good on grass and pavement mine pulls wheelies all day long on both. I'm running the stock gearing too 22 tooth cb and 58 tooth spur. I had run a 19 tooth cb for a while but couldn't keep the front tires on the ground so i went back to stock gearing. Just be careful I did a Dukes of Hazzard impersonation and had it up on 2 wheels and the front tire exploded because it was balooned out like a pancake!

Wow man that's crazy, yea my chevrons do that all the time on pavement. Well if I do get those tires, I need to know exactly what I need to be running so it won't be slow. I just want my truck to hook up better without taking away any power. I'm running a 54 spur on the tranny and remember I have the older chassis still, its the 4909 tranny and idk what clutchbell. So will it work fine or will I have to change gears in the tranny or spur?

I have the 4908 model. I've run both the stock 6.3's and the chevron off my 2.5r. The chevrons are great off road and amazing in sand and dirt...but because the are harder and smaller, they spin like crazy at full throttle. The 6.3's are great on road but are terrible for ballooning up. I have my maxx geared for high speed and I have gone through 3 of the 6.3 tires.

But, I will say, when I had stock gearing, the 6.3's were definitely the best for on and off road.
