Todays mud!

Well I got the rig out today for the first time in about 2 months so I was not going to let a lil bit of mud get in my way! Broke a rear shock. That got fixed on site! There is something wrong with the front shocks I don't know what yet I can't see anything broke? The one side droops much more then the other. They don't line up at all. Ill get some pics of that later maybe you guys could help?

A clean rig is the sign of a sick mind! Your shock problem could nothing more than a leaking seal on one of the shocks. You should be able to find out more once it's been given a bath.

I was thinking that the shock was leaking but I don't see any oil anywhere? It really is not all that dirty right where the shock is. No bath till thurs going back out wensday. But I will take that shock off and check her out tom.

So I know there are threads on cleaning your rig but I just want to clarify a few thing cause my truck has never been this dirty. All I have to do is take out all the elec's and the mill and I could hose the hole thing down right. How hard is it to take the diffs apart? What kinda oil/grease do I need if any? I guess I should take them apart right? Other then that I should be all good.

When my trucks become too dirty to clean with a vacuum,some assorted stiff brushed and compressed air or at rebuild time I remove the servos and rx box plus engine and gastank then wash the rest of the whole chassis with some heavy duty cleaner like Simple green ,Fantastic or heavy duty citrus based cleaner and rinse away the dirt with the gardenhose..I mostly use hotwater and a slopsink.My friend uses an old dishwasher converted to a makeshift hotwater parts and greasy tool washer in his garage....To displace the moisture from the wheel bearings and axle joints I use compressd air and silicone spray then they get a proper lubing with either silicone oil or PJ-1 chain lube afterwards......For the engine I remove the pipe , plug the manifold , remove the airfilter,plug the carb and wash the engine and whole silencer down along with the whole airfilter assembly and exhaust boots with heavyduty cleaner on a paintbrush brush to break-up the dirt and oil and a quick rinse followed by a thorough drying and douche down with silicone spray on the whole engine to displace any moisture and do a final wipedown before ripping down the clutch for inspection, followed by a quick airleak check with some soapsuds on a small brush and sealing if needed then reinstalling on the chassis cleaned up and ready for action again.The servos get a dry wipe to remove any big dirt deposits and then a generous soaking with silicone spray followed by a thorough wipedown.....All a-arm pivot and axle joints plus clutch bearings get a shot of PJ-1 Chain lube or silicone oil also to minimize wear and maximize suspension parts life during its days bashing as much as it can before totally breaking and needing a total overhaul again.Even the gastank gets washed inside aswell as outside...The only thing I dont wash is the tires and rims because water rots out the foam and wet foam causes unbalanced running tires which cause poor handling and can also mess with 2nd gear kick-in....

I hope thats the water proof one!! This guy put his in the tub. Might be a good way to clean it
