Is the 2 speed or the 3 speed transmission better in the savage?

why or why not?

(lol do you feel like you in school again??):whhooo:

Honestly, the 2 speed is just fine. The 3 speed is a bit of a pain to get it to shift right and even when it does, the lower/higher gearing it adds isn't really noticeable. I guess it depends on the engine you have. If you have a strong engine, then you probably won't benefit from it much. If you have a weak engine, it will spread the load more throughout the gears, so it helps with power somewhat.

I'm on the verge of buying a two speed on ebay because mine came with a 3-speed and it's more of a nuisance than it's worth.

I'd spend your $ elsewhere.

hey!!!
Wait i minute!!
I have a spare 2 speed...

Just my 2 cents. Yes olds is right there is not alot of gain out of the three speed. The only way see an gain would be on the top end but thats it with and higher third gear. When i had mine in my savage with an hpi k4.6 and three speed i had 39 mph out of it. When i changed engines to an lrp .28 and the higher third gear i clocked it at 50 mph. There is alot of tweeking to do if you do any big changes to the engine or the gearing. If your just bashing around stick with the two speed.

stick with the 2 speed...like they said, it's more of a pain than a benefit

Move your desks together in groups of 3 and discuss this amongst yourselves. :D

I added the 3 speed with the higher 3rd gear to my Savage.
It hasn't been tested yet, but I got it for a lower 1st gear since the Savvy is up to 17 lbs.
Does anyone know how much the 1st gear ratio changed from the 2 speed to the 3?

i no this is not wat u were asking cuz i couldnt tell ya but i did dig this up from the internet and thought it may help also I'm not sure but wouldnt it be different deppending on wat spur ratio and what clutch bell ratio u were using
