Ok guys I replaced my brakes on my x 4.6 and when I did it I also put in a 645mg servo for steering and moved the sf-2 to throttle. WELL now when I push the brakes it works great BUT when I push the gas it makes the brake lever go the other way and it also applies the brake. I donno what to do. I did the tmaxx linkage mod and it worked awesome till i swapped the servo's. I dont get why its not sliding on the linkage and pulling only the throttle. Its like its catching on the bar for some reason.

Here is pics for example...

EDIT: I think heartbreak just hit it on the head I might have the z bend inserted on the wrong side. Checking now...

Ok that wasn't it but i just put 2 zipties on the frame to keep it from going the opposite way and forcing it to slide on the bar. Works! :D

which radio are you using? You may want to try reducing your brake throw down. On my M8 and on my XS3, I can reduce the brake throw to allow more or less brake.

ya thats not the issue its suppose to slide up the bar without moving the brake lever when you gas it.

You may have the locknut on the slider too tight. The slider needs to spin freely on the servo arm. If that is not the case, it is the angle the brake rod is at causing it to bind. Been there. The Ofna linkage kits work better and are a lot less prone to binding up.

On my rig, i have a rubber band going out from lever and onto one of the gas tank mounts. This seems to do the trick for me.

Did you ever get this worked out H8Z?

It looks like you just need to adjust the collar which is closest to that brake arm. Move it a little bit closer to the brake arm so it doesn't engage the brake during at full throttle. Personally, I don't see the reason behind that collar and tubing anyways. You really only need it on the other side don't ya?

I'd unscrew the eyelet on the end of the brake lever so that the rod that connects to the traxxas slider on the servo horn is more parallel to the ground. Those metal sliders don't slide well (as you have found) when the wire goes through them at an angle.

So that the wire is more in line with the yellow line here:

Or, you can try to ream the hole out a bit where the wire goes through the slider. Allows it to be at more of an angle without binding so much.

your brake linkage is wrong --it should go through the brake linkage on the other side ie closest to the body not on the outside

Actually, I had the same issue on my SS 4.6. Rather than take all the time to fix the underlying issues (which would probably have been the more responsible way to fix it), I just took a piece of model airplane pushrod I had lying around, bent a loop in one end, then bent an "L" on the other end. Undid the screw that hold the rollbar right behind the brake lever. Put the new bent piece there and secure it with the screw so it's sticking out to stop the brake lever from pushing back when you hit the throttle. Yeah, it's a bit hack, but it works perfectly.

You can see it in the right highlight.

You need to remove the long piece of fuel line on the linkage.
It should PULL the brake lever in the brake position, and simply slide through the eyelet of the servo arm in the throttle position.

I envy you and your pushbutton kill switch!

Yeah, how cool is that? Even came with a spare shoe and extra spring. I had to rework some mounts for the FLM extended TVPs, because I didn't want to leave it off.

The red button would be the selling point for me! Can't have enough red buttons on stuff!

I always wanted to get one... but as usual, never got around to ordering it, then got rid of the savage. Now I have a savage again. Need to seek me out a button!

I found it accidentally while looking for something else. It might have been on Tower or A Main.

I painted the button. :) Stock is black.

May sound retarded but, what is that switch for? and how does it work, and where do you get that thing???:\

Forgive me for beating that dead horse....

But a kill switch on a Rolex rig? Isn't a kill switch supposed to stop an engine that's running? Hmm....guess it serves no purpose on that ride....

Please don't hurt me, Rolex...
