Am i the only one that thinks the tires look backwards on this picture.
I know this is the normal/right way they go, but for some reason in my head, i think they would get more traction with backwards rotation.....

you're right, just looks funny, i allways thought these tires looked cool but it kinda made me wonder if it makes the truck un-stable on paved surfaces. kdogg

They do get more traction in the other direction, but they also cause the truck to wander all over more. Maybe just flip the rears and leave the fronts. Then it won't be so likely to wander around on you when accelerating, but you may get more forward bite.

As Olds said they do get more bite the other direction but the reason for them being that direction is for the clearing of mud, dirty and debris. The direction it is now the tread is supposed to clear its self out. If they were the other way around they wold just pack what ever was stuck in the tread in tighter.

I was wondering if that was the reason.

They're right.. I used to mountain bike a lot a long time ago and we used to rotate the back tire on the bike to help for hill climbs and traction. The veins are like that in the pic, technically, to help to get water away from the center of the tire and also to get mud out of there. Kind of a tread cleaning design. As it spins in the mud, it helps push the mud out of the tread. If it were mounted backwards, the mud would cake up in the tread and nbot get cleaned out, making your tires slicked over and affecting traction.

yeah, like the poster above mentioned that I didn't read.. lol
